Christmas Toy Run

The 4x4 Christmas Toy Run, put on by the Sasquatch Four Wheelers on behalf of the Four Wheel Drive Association of B.C., has become a Christmas tradition for many Lower Mainland four wheelers. As with previous years, they arrived at the staging area near Guildford Mall in Surrey this past Sunday where the decorated trucks were put on display and awarded prizes. Then, at 10:00am, they formed into a convoy and proceeded down 152nd Street and then over to Bear Creek Park where they donated toys to the Christmas Bureau. They were welcomed by the North Surrey Lions Club who had prepared a pancake breakfast.

Attendance had been dropping over the past few years but this year saw a turn-around with 85 trucks participating (up from 67 last year). 353 new toys were collected, as well as several bags of pre-owed donations collected from kids at a local school. $100 in cash donations were also received. At the time of this article's writing, the amount collected from the Lions' pancake breakfast had not been tallied. The four wheelers did a great job of representing our sport and supporting the community. A huge round of applause should also go out to the North Surrey Lions Club, the Surrey Christmas Bureau, the Sasquatch Four Wheelers, and, of course, the business sponsors who provided prizes for the best-decorated trucks. It was a great way to start the Christmas season.

Although it didn't win an award, this Toyota with a talking deer head was a crowd favourite.

This gift-wrapped Dodge Ram was one of the prize winners.

As usual, the Delica owners had a strong presence with their awesome 4x4 vans.

I love her shirt's slogan.
