Mercedes Benz G-Wagon LAPV 6.X Concept - Bomb Laughing Military Shot Caller
Jul 8, 2010
Proving that war and instability can be a great business, Mercedes introduces the new G-Wagon LAPV 6.X Third World ass kicker. Mercedes showed the new concept vehicle at the Paris Eurosatory War Show (they don't officially call it the War Show btw) which is a huge convention covering all things military and held every two years in France. The new 6.x Concept is based on the G-Wagon 5.4 but of course there have been quite a few upgrades and, well, it just looks a lot cooler. Designed to carry heavier cargo, the 6.X features a diesel engine of some kind (sorry classified info) that propels this rig to a max speed of 150 km/h with 1300 kg on board. That sounds pretty good! Even better is the rig's armour design which allows quick and easy replacement and addition of armour. Expecting land mines that day? Additional plating can be added underneath. Of course the beauty of this system is that if you have an off day from rampaging and mayhem and just want to get to the country club for a round of golf you can get your mechanics to easily lighten up the G-Wagon making for much improved fuel mileage! Mercedes doesn't really spend a lot of time discussing this positive note, I had to actually think it up all myself. Of course the real reason we are so excited about the LAPV 6.X is that it has portal axles! We figure in about 20 years when these come up for military surplus and are affordable they will work great on whatever wheeling project we have going at the time.
