I don't have a lot to say about these pictures as everyone has heard of the Golden Crack at Moab. What I tried to do here was show all the different angles to give you a little better idea of the obstacle. My only comment here is it is much worse in person than it appears in pictures. See for yourself.
Above I take my attempt at it. I don't lift a tire going across. The 1/4 eleptical really gets a work out on crossing the crack.
Here Ron Hollatz takes his well set up YJ across. He is running a mix and match four inch lift kit with shackle reverse. He gets his rear tire on the drivers side up in the air preatty good. But he makes it across almost unscathed. He put a minor scratch in the front fender when he dropped into the crack.
Here Rob Eide walks his extended roof XJ across. Rob was amazing in this thing. Going across the crack he only lifted his drivers rear tire an inch or two. I thought he had kept all four down but after seeing some pictures it was up just a hair.
Here John Nutter shows us that a soft springover can keep all four on the rock as well.
John Reynolds brings his shiny early Bronco up to the crack. John is an amazing driver some of the things he did during the course of the day were a sight to see. John is entered in the Rock Crawling Championships In NM this fall. If you get a chance go down there and check out his wild driving style.
Rob from the other side.
Brian Simon gets into the crack heavy. He lifts his rear tire nice and high for the camera's.
Jeff Reynolds crossing the crack in his ever so smooth CJ-8. Him and John are brothers but both use different styles to get through the rocks. Jeff has perfected his slow and smooth style over 25+ years of playing in the rocks.
Here is me from another angle and then coming back across the Golden Crack the correct way.
Thanks to Josie Knorr and Paul Weitlauf for the pictures
