Testing the 1/4 Elepitical

Testing the 1/4 Eleptical after weeks of wrenching.

My trailer works out to just about be a perfect test of the elusive 1000 mark for a CJ-7

But as you can see the new suspension easily accomplishes this. It also travels a bit to far up and takes a bit of the fender with here.

I have to admit the flex here is unreal. It exceeded my expectations and then some. The best part is the Jeep still isn't maxed out. You can actually grab it and shake the whole Jeep and it has the same reaction that it does when sitting level. Just Unreal.

Here we back up to see how it will ramp bakwards. Easily does 1000 in reverse as well. The Jeep feels really stable and has no problems acheiving these angles. As a matter of fact I had difficulty even getting it to feel unstable.

Here is another shot from the rear. Kind of shows how the 1/4 eleptical cleans up the rear of the Jeep. Although adding exhuast and shocks will add some clutter but nowhere near what it had before.
These pictures are truly hot off the press. I haven't been able to work on it since last weekend (3-7-99) when these photos were taken. But after weeks of wrenching I was so happy the way everything had finally came togther I called it a day. It was a lot of hard work and so far it looks like it will work incredible.
My first trip will be to Moab for the EJS. So hopefully I have covered everything. I am going to get it finished up this weekend and get it to the exhaust shop Monday the (3-15-99). Then I will be able to give you some impressions of it on the road. Look for a full write up next month in Off-Road.com. Hopefully it will be there.
Later, Mike
