Just like to say hi to everyone, I'm actually from Red Deer AB, but I got a question for y'all, I'm putting a 20R head on my 22R block, should I change the cam, will it run alright with the stock one, or will the valves come too close to the pistons, or not open far enough. Thanx for any input, not many people are into toys around here.

you dont have to change the cam if you dont want , I would suggest it while its a part though . if you dont you wont notice any difference .The 20r has a better swerl chamber and will bring up the comp ratio about 1 point , but with no other mods you wont notice much . Your 22r intake and carb will not fit on a 20r head so there is a little farting around to do .

Yeah, got a header ordered, Webber carb on the way, the head is gettin ported and polished, as I write this, and I'm gonna order the cam anyway. Gonna put a 3 inch exhaust on with glass pack. With all the weight I'm cuttin off the thing I'm gonna make the V-8's look silly.

Don't forget that the 20R has round intake ports and the 22R has square..........You will either have to get the 20R intake or port match the manifolds...
Also there is no provision on the 20R head for a fuel pump........ pretty hard to make the V8's look silly with no fuel......

actually there is Chris . on the /79-/80 TRUCK (RN)model 20r there is a mechanical fuel pump on the head . only the cars IE: celica , corona did toyota use electric fuel pumps . But good point .. on some of the 20r's Power Steering was not an option , If you want or have this ... make sure the head has provisions .
