anybody know anything about swapping this axle into the rear of an xj. they are 58" wide and are sprung under. I do know that they are about as strong as a D44 and that they have the same 5on4.5 bolt pattern and thought this would be a good swap. anyone have any opinion on this.

I read about this swap in an old 4x4 mag and you have to modify the driveshaft, brakes and e-brakes and maybe the width of the spring purches, and you can get a really good selection of gears and i know stock 4x4 toyotas came with 4:10 and you could also put a third in it with an electric locker or a v6 third which is stronger and people run 38" super swamps on these axles
