I am thinking of putting in a 5.0l into my jeep, possibly from a mid 90's f150 but I want to use a np435. The 5 speed is quite long and I don't want to use any thing that has a internal slave cylinder.
Does anyone know if I would be able to use the flywheel and clutch from 5.0l? I believe the mustang 5.0l used a smaller clutch but I don't know about the trucks. and is it possible to bolt up to the bellhousing?

To answer your questions:
- The truck 5.0 and NP435 will bolt up fine, though you'll need the bellhousing that the tranny came with. There's a factory external-slave hydro clutch setup that was used in the mid-80's that works well. Get the bellhousing, fork, slave cyl, small parts, etc.
- The 'stang motor has more HP and is pretty common around here. Best years are '89-'93, which had MAF and were true 5.0 engines (not modular 4.6L), and no OBD-II.
- The truck bellhousing, flywheel, starter, etc will bolt up to the 'stang engine - unfortunately you can't use any of the 'stang clutch parts or starter.

Hopefully the writeup will be of some help. Feel free to ask any other questions you might have - this is a great project!
