are the wagon style landcruisers from the 80s using IFS or solid axles? I'm considering one of these instead of a 4runner. anything in particular i should look for? i know they're pretty bad for body rust.

They had solid axles all the way to 98 I believe.
You have to watch for rust but the powertrains are good for gas or diesel. No real problem areas. But if your unfamiliar with cruisers take it to someone who is ,for an inspection, before laying down the cash.

Take a good look at the frame for rust too.
Great trucks, I'd love to have one to go with my 70...
