82 Toy fuel pumps Help

Hey Guys, i need some help, i have an 82 toy and my fuel pump has gone. i go down to lordco and there are 3 different types of fuel pumps. 2 mech and 1 electric, they carry only 1 mech and my truck has the one that they and no one else carrys, the hose lines are all the same adn a pumps a pump right?????? can i just put the other one in or what?? please help if you can

You will have to check the volume and pressure of the new pump before you get too far into it. I have heared that the electric is the way to go, mounted close to the fuel tank as pumps are better pushers than pullers.

How hard would it be to mount a pump on your firewall. I have found the stewart warner pumps to be A-1. It would be much easier to access/service. I always thought that in tank pumps were the dumbest thing ever. The stewart warner pumps are reasonable too.

Not too sure on the logistics of this, it is just how the toy diesels are set up, on the passenger side firewall.

Take your blown one out and take it into Lordco, get them to go get the part, compare the two. If yours is close enough that a little bending (not a lot) will get those hoses on there, do it.

Yeah thanx guys! i just ended up using the one they carried and it seems to be doing ok. i had to work at getting to hoses on but its all good and runs awesome!!!
