here's a customer's vehicle, some of you might recognize it
custom front bumper,tire carrier and shock hoops built by me

Very nicely done. Convertibles will always have a place in my garage. Love the painted steering gear.

Was the steel rusty? What was your choice and method of paint?

Hmmm, come to think of it, I think I have parts from that truck in my back yard.

Great innovation. How does it perform w/ the shocks mounted that way, any worries or has it proved itself? Huge props on the front bumper. :beer What's next on the list :cwm16:

thanks for the comments guys

i actually re-did the shock hoops, i trimmed the inner fenders out and recessed the shock hoops and adjusted them so they have lots of room for compression.

also re-did the rear tire carrier latch, the pin was mounted vertically and was popping out so i mounted the latch pin horizontally and its much better

Just wanted to say, the setup performed great on my last camping trip, flexes unreal and absolutely no binding up of the suspension at all! Spare tire stayed in place nicely!! I'll post a couple pics of the new setup in the next day or so. Nice job, Troy! :beer
