Remove the rear driveshaft, tape up your tcase output, and see if you still get the vibration.

You need to narrow things down and locate the source before figuring out the cure.

Oh...I forgot to mention that you should then drive it in 4WD mode and see if the vibration is still there and exactly the same as before.

Well, if you take the u-joint out and it's broken, then it's broken. ;-) I would ASSume that since you just replaced the joint (how long ago, btw?), it should be fine.

Exactly what do you mean when you say the first one was broken? Was it literally broken in half or cracked? Was there damage to the bearings and/or caps *OR* was there damage to the u-joint's cross itself? Wrecked bearings are generally the reason to replace u-joints and shouldn't cause much of a problem with the yokes. However, if the u-joint actually broke, then it could have damaged one or both of the yokes (the driveshaft yoke and the pinion yoke).

You need to first isolate the problem and ensure that it is, indeed, your driveshaft. Next, you need to remove the drive shaft and check both u-joints to make sure they're ok, and then carefully examine the yokes for damage, egging, etc. When you installed the new u-joint, did it move freely and easily or was it really stiff?

I made a mistake, it was the yoke that twised off, the u joint did not snap, but I replaced it(the u joint) just incase it got week from the force. I tried the 4 weel drive test, so it must be the rear drive shaft. I notice a small kinda gash in the metal of the drive shaft when I took it out. the gash is not right through the metal, more like a dent/gash. its about 2 inches long. could that be enough to unbalance the drive shaft?

First off, if you twisted the yoke off then you would have got it welded back on, correct. So after the weld was done you should have got it balanced. If you didn't I suggest you go and get it done. But if that is not the case then one other thing it can be is the u-jouint is not seated properly in the pinion yoke. Make sure it is between the 2 flanges and then strap it in..

My mistake, it was the slip yoke that tristed off. But I did still get the u joint replaced at the same time. I took the driveshaft in, got it fixed, then put it back in myself.

well, if your driveshaft has a ding in it, it was probably enough force to actually bend it. start scouring the boneyards for a new one.
