i can not get one of my fusses out. one of the 30amp ones under neither the hood. is there some secret to taking them out? i have to replace one of them.

Is it a 30A or is it an 80A (the black one)? There is no trick to the pink or green ones, they "should" just pull out, but the 80A are bolted in. There is a catch at the rear of the fuse holder; use a slotted scredriver and pry back, then push the fuse holder down, and pull it out from underneath the fuse block. There are 2 different-sized bolts holding it in; I advise using sockets and not a slotted screwdriver. While you are there, run a second heavy-gauge wire from the plate on the 80A fuse holder to your battery to increase the current-carrying capacity of your wiring harness. You can also add a second 80A for your accessories like 2-way radio, lights, etc. There's a write-up on this on my website.
