I am considering a road trip in September 2021, and one of the legs I am considering is from Kootenay Bay to Kimberley via Gray Creek Forest Rd and St Mary's Lake Rd. Anyone familiar with this route comment on the road conditions, I am driving a lightly modified 2013 JKU Rubicon. Google maps says this will take over 6 and a half hours to go 67 KM (About 10 KPH). I doubt Google Maps is thinking of a real 4X4, but I need to have a realistic idea of the time involved to plan the route (would not want to be caught half way through this at sunset).
My starting point is that this would be part of a one day drive from Revelstoke to Fernie.
Thanks for any info that you can provide.
