You've already got it. 435/4.10/35's is a nice combo. Reasonable on the highway, reasonable in the dirt. move the ratio either way according to dirt/street prefference. For teh $ to change, its not worth it unless you go straight off road with no freeway, and even then a dual transfercase is a far better idea. teh 460 should move you around just fine, even if you went to 3.50's :)

With a 460 engine it would be better to compromise and go with 3.73's for all around use because that engine has so much power. The reason why the "jobber" out at JOBWRONG is telling you 3.50's is because he has done so many swaps he has a million in stock and no where to unload them. Go to Randy's ring and pinion website and use there axle ratio calculator and watch it pop out the 4.10 numbers!!!

35"and 4.10 =2362rpm
That should be just fine. May buy a 5 speed later

It will be difficult to find a five speed with such a low gear and the brute strength of your current transmission unless you can afford $2000+ for an NV4500!

In the real world, 4.10 and 35's puts you just under 2500 RPM at 60mph. BTDT. Reasonable for most cruising, and with the 460 will still pull anything you hook it to!
