The "push on" slip yoke seal you are talking about is actually threaded onto the drive shaft slip housing! Turn it counterclock wise to remove, you will want to remove the grease nipple any ways to ensure that it is clear of debris!

NOPE my 81 driveshaft was threaded but my 84 driveshaft is actually a push on seal. switched to this style cause I was unable to get a threaded seal for my old shaft ... any way thanks for the reply, got it figured out tho
