That's alot of money for a Jeep.
It's only $2,000 more than a comparably equiped Sahara, and for your money you get:
-D44 front with selectable locker
-Rear Selectable locker instead of track-lock
-4:1 HD t-case
-4.11 gears (instead of 3.73)
-fixed yoke on t-case (SYE kit)
-31" MT/R tires
-Heavy duty drive shafts
-Disk brakes front and rear

You couldn't even start to buy that gear for the price difference, and then it wouldn't be under warranty.

Of course you can buy on old YJ cheap, but factor in the value of starting with [000 000] on the odometer and a full waranty.

As in it's too much or too little?
Your Sahara probably came with extras like dual tops and such.

That's a damned good price, especially compared to what the Americans are paying for 'em! Good luck with your new rig, Chris. Give us a write-up when you get it!

That's beats any of the other stock 4x4s hands down (price-wise AND performance-wise).

Even more so because as soon as I get it a 2.5" lift, 33x10.5" BFG MTs, my 8274 and skid plates go on. :D

All I can say is Whahoo.

I should have waited I think...rats!! I just paid 'almost' that price for my TJ APEX SE a couple months ago....aakkkk!!!

Ah well...I'll have been driving it for a good long while before any of the Rubicons hit the road....but still...damn. That's a good price.

Cheers!

I can't believe it's that low!!!!!! GRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!! I was expecting somewhere along the lines of $35,000

Well, if anyone's looking for a new Jeep that they'll take off road, I'd say to get your name on the waiting list for one of these PRONTO.

FYI,

I had one priced out the way I would like it. My Dak payments end in Feb so I am thinking about getting one then.

Remember all prices are MSRP

Base = $29,425
4 Speed Auto = $1000
Dual Top = $1,660
Floor Mats = $30
Speaker/Sub = $200
Speed Ctrl = $310
Add a trunk = $160
Window Tint = $350
A/C = $1,060
Excise Tax = $100
Destination = $860

Grand total.........$35,155.00 + taxes + financing fees (unless you have a bundle sitting around
:D ) The interest rates are 3.8% or 4.8% over 4 years, can't remember which. The 0% on right now doesn't count towards 2003.

Guess I should think about selling some stuff and saving. There are always trade-ins too. That or putting some bucks into my CJ.

So you actually found a dealer who knew what they are? :D

Or was this within the past two days when the literature finally landed on the salesman's desk?
Funny that orders are already cut off before most salesmen knew they existed.

Add $10,000 for taxes, dock fees, cost of borrowing, etc. $40,000 for a jeep? Crazy.

And that is what life's all about. I'm a little moody now cause I am trying to sell my Jeep to raise money for a down payment on a house.

The price is set for all units already ordered.
There is some concern that Jeep will raise the price due to the number that pre-sold, but with the price already specified in a press release I can't see them changing it soon.

There are also numerous dealers who are charging a "specialty premium", but if they try it tell them you know base MSRP and that you will walk out if they charge you one dolar more.

That's great advise Chris. I sell Toyotas and lots of dealers were marking up the new Matrix by as much as $1000 over MSRP and telling people that "that's the price you'll pay anywhere for one"
WHAT A CROCK!! Granted, we didn't drop a penny off of MSRP, due to the high demand, but we never sold them for more. Buyers, be aware of certain industry "tricks" to get more of your money! Old school dealers and sales reps will know lots of them and I can't stand that about my job. They give all of us a bad rep!

Good thing I already ordered mine.

I seriously can't believe that price either. I've got my salesman here (Wille Dodge, Victoria) looking into the price for a Rubicon, and more importantly a set of axles (wanna throw 'em into my 2000 XJ). Should find out Friday, I'll pass it on if/when I find out...
