Ok, here goes.....

Toychoda, 20r 1980... Just replaced AAP diaphragm, truck ran great for about a week, alas this morning it started doing it's thing, backfiring on deceleration... It is backfiring in the manifold i think...I checked a bunch of other things, fuel filter, safety shut-off etc.. all looked good seemed to work. When it warms up is when the problem starts... Also, my AAp isn't actually hooked up, the vacuum line is plugged off... Once it heats up the truck idles lower than normal, and backfires when i slow down... Any ideas?

In addition, my gas mileage seems to be a little bit worse than normal, not sure how much as my odometer doesn't have a trip meter.

have you checked your fuel mixture? It sounds like it's running rich.
