My buddy might be buying a beater 78 Ford F250, V8, auto 2wd i think. Anyways, he wants to slap a cheap lift on there and just get a little more height. First question, is it IFS or solid axle? Which would be cheaper body lift or suspension? Of course were going to be doing this in the driveway, so i'd prefer not to do a body lift. So what are some options.

Should be a Ford Twin I-beam front end, and standard ford leaf packs in the rear. Throw blocks in the rear of the truck and lift spindles in the front. Try to see if these dudes can give you some information!

I dont think it would be twin I beam in 1978...Should be a solid axle..

all 2wd back to like early 60s are TTB or twin "I" beam front suspension.

That is what I said right, twin I beam! My dad's 80 has the same set up so you options are not as narrow as one would think!
