I've got an 87 Caprice Classic with a seized motor, Tag under the hood says this...

SAK
5.0 liter
H2G5.0Z4HAB7
3B4-7

I'm trying to find out what the hell this motor is... I thought 305 but then I compared it to a 305 and first thing I noticed was that the oil filter is on the right side of the 305 and left side on my motor, the timing chain seems to be recessed into my block and the water pump completely covers it, the 305 has the oval timing cover and the pump is elevated off the block by 1 inch, also the fuel pump bolt up style was different. What the hell motor do I have?? I was told possibly a Olds style 307, anybody put any truth to this? Or can help me figure out what the hell motor this is so that i can get a replacement...

And if it is a 307, anybody got a good running one... cheap?

Very likely an Olds 307. I know many Caprice wagons had this engine as well. If its any help, the Olds 260, 350, and 403 will all fit in its place.
