I know that if you increase your tire size you have to correct your speedo. I am wondering if you change you diff ratio do you need you correct the speedo?

tire change was from 28 (stock)to 31s (33s in the near future)I corrected the speedo. Now I'm changing my gear ratio to 4.56 from 3.55 (I think)..

Definitely. Keep your old speedo gears in a box or something, though; you never know when you'll be able to recycle

If I were to do it correctly and match my gears to close to stock w/ the tire change. Will my old speedo gears work. Will my speedo be close to stock or will I have to purchase new ones?

If you put the vehicle back into the stock powerband like you're suggesting, then your speedo would be close. Probably not dead-on, but then again speedo gears only cost around $15 from the dealer, so it's no big deal to correct afterwards.

Quite often, people like to use lower diff gears than stock, even after accounting for the tire size change. This gives them more power "off the line", and lets them get more use out of an overdrive gear on the freeway. It's good for a little more crawl ratio, too, though mileage does suffer a bit.
