My brother and I are having an argument.

He said that the XJ and Comanchee came with a D44 in the front for a couple of years.
I say no.
Just need to clear this up.

North American XJs and MJs *NEVER* came with a Dana 44 front. I doubt that offshore XJs and MJs had 'em, either.

Nope. Never happened.
D44 was an option on heavy towing and metric ton packages in the late 80s, but only on the rear axle.

D44 front on Full size Cherokees and J trucks yes.
XJ Cherokees and Comanches never.

Ummmm, i've got a D44 in the rear of my 87 XJ. It came with the towing package, and its a north american one as well.
