Are we able to get 16" rims for the sammies? I'm looking at getting 285/75/r16's but they don't come in 15" rim sizes... SO... I'm thinking about getting a set of 16" rims...

Why????? just keep with the 33" tires on a 15" rim.The price of 15" rim tires is way cheaper than the 16"rim tires. go for a set of mud kings. hope this helps.

I am running good old 16" fleetmasters bios plys on an sj 410 and they rock at three psi.
They also laugh at sharp rocks and the price is usaully right.
see them @ suzuki.island4x4.com

33s are just too big though. I can't even get up to highway speed. I wouldn't mind something a little narrower...

1999 and up various Vitara, Grand Vitara and Trackers came out with 16" rims as well as Sideckick Sport.
They will all fit the Samurai... if that's what you want, of course.

My suggestion: 33/10.5/15 if you want to go a little narrower. New BFG MT size. There is always the 32/11.5/15 option as well.

I could be reading this wrong but if you want a narrower tire you are not going down too much with a 285mm (11.2"). The BFG 9.5x33x15 may be what you want?? I think it is still available.

John, the BFG you are reffering to was just replaced with the 33/10.5/15 this season: the MT KM.
You could probably still find lots of the 9.5 size around if you hurry up.
For the record: 9.5 is aprx 235/15 and 10.5 is aprox 285/15

FWIW,

I have 16" tires on my 83 CJ (5 on 4.5, I think) and I have 235/85/16 GY wrangler AT's I recently learned they are roughly 32"X7", tall and skinny baby!)

The rims were about $60 (white spokes) each from Kal Tire. I like 'em alot. I have had mine down to 8psi with no problem, I am going to try 3 psi like somebody mentioned. I run at about 38psi on the highway.
