Hey guys. I am pretty new at this jeep stuff, but am lovin' it! What I was wondering is what are the differences between a Dana 35 and a Chrysler 8.25" diff? Does being bigger mean that the 8.25" sill be stronger? More durable? Thanks for the info guys and gals...

Yup, 8.25" diff uses larger rings gears plus, so far, the housing does not have a reputation for flexing or breaking axle shafts and spider gears.

IMO, the D35 is the worst rear axle ever used in a Jeep. If you have the opportunity to switch to an 8.25, take it. Or if you can afford the 8.8 Ford, do that instead. It's the strongest 5 on 4.5" bolt pattern axle that will fit (width-wise) on your Jeep.
