Crazyguy, 4.10 gears should be easy enough to find used...

Paul, what details do you want? It is basically the area north of Carpenter Lake. 4Lo and decent tires(ie A/S is fine as long as they are not on their last legs due to the destructive nature of shale) and a CB are all that is needed. There are some steep hills to go up (thus the 4lo), hopefully the ferry will be running (currently is) lots of driving at or above the treeline, awesome views. Bring the XJ! Email me if you want a map...

Are you gong to set up a base camp and have day runs from there or are you camping along the way? If you are setting up a base camp can I get my tent trailer there?

Can't bring the Cherokee for a couple of reasons:
1) I'm not supposed to use it outside of work.
2) I don't want to spend the weekend stuck. (that Jeep thing ya know)

Tent trailers do not do too well. I would say they are a bit low slung for the road (there are some ruts, logs, annoying rocks to deal with, but only a few). And I am not sure how deep Churn Cr is. Sometimes just a few inches and other times it can be up to my doors. If it was like a utility trailer on the other hand, I would say no problem.
And yes, we will be camping along the way rather than making one camp. We have a fair distance to cover and lots to see
