I am exo'ing my 4-Runner next month and I was wondering if anyone here runs a daily driver that has an exo on it.
If so, ever get VI'ed for it?

It will add alot of wind drag to your vehicle, less gas mileage, lower top speed, not enough highway power...etc.

want to do a simple exo on my 4Runner as well before we go to johnson valley for the jambo - just waiting on my nerfs and bumper from pook. how are you going to do yours? same as big-bird's?

Nope.
I am going to do it differently than BigBird's.
I am going full cage more than likely. Front to back. BigBird only did his cab.
But rumor has it that he is working on more.

After all this other crap gets bolted/welded/zap strapped onto my truck I'll be bending some tube. Just a few bars here and there. While I don't think it would make or break you on a VI a cop would definetly jump at the chance to pull any truck with an exo over simply for the fact that it screams aftermarket modification.

I doubt you would have problems getting through a VI. The only issue might be welding to the frame.

For a few years in the 1990's Land rover Defender 110 wagons came with an Exo cage from the factory..... I would think that this would set a precedent for any other Exo cages....
As far as welding to the frame...... that is between you and your inspector..
