I have two questions?

1. What is the correct type of fluid to use in this diff? I’ve always thought that 80w90 was the right stuff but now I’ve been told different?

2. What sizes of tires can this diff safely and reliably run?

(88 Full size Bronco)

My rear bearings are toast and if I’m going to need a diff swap to run 33’s or 35’s now may be to time to swap instead of repairing the bearings. Thoughts?

Thanks for any info.

Damn 4X4’s are hard on a bank account!

80w 90 is what my mechanic puts in my differntial but don't forget the additive if you have a limited slip or posi that reguires it. I run 35 inch tires and as of now I have had no problems and I have haerd of people running 38s

I was told an 8.8 is good for 33's and 35's, but if you're debating an axle swap, you can probably find a fullsize 9" for relatively cheap and it will be stronger than an 8.8...

Probably worth checking out.
