Hey guys!

Local shops only seem to carry full length headers or block-hugger type headers.

If I buy a pair of longtubes with 1 1/2" primary tubes, will I suffer from any negative effects? I keep hearing that you can loose some low-end torque. Would the top-end gains be worth the low-end loss? This is a stock 350HD in a 85 3/4T 4x4.

I'll use the block-huggers if I have to, but am worried about heat.

I'd prefer to buy through my local exhaust shop for warranty reasons.

Any info would be great! Thanks.

I've always gone with the more flow = more power train of thought and it seems to work for me. Be sure to get a decent flowing muffler as well and run min. 2 1/4" pipe. I have that exact set up on my 89 injected 350 and it does real well power wise (flow tech headers and dynomax mufflers with2 1/4 all the way). I at one time had block hugger headers on a 350 in a Cruiser - never again as long as I live will I own another set of block hugger headers. Fine for power but fried plug wires , constantly leaked and were brutal to tighten up cause of no space next to the bolts. Norm
