I have an '80 Cj5. Well, the body is an '80, frame is an '82, running gear is a 5.9L/176 trans/Dana300/d30/M20.
It was put together from all new or rebuilt parts in '97 and only has about 23,000kms on it. I liked the Cj5/6 curved doors also. Had to be a 5 not a 7. I see fewer and fewer Cj5s every year.
I have a 1958 CJ-5 that i,m rebuilding right now , it will be mounted on a 1980 cj-5 frame with rebuilt dana 30 front axle c/w dics brakes , a dana 44 rear , a CJ-7 T18 trans ,dana 20 T/C all powered by a rebuilt buick 225 c.in. V-6 , p/s,p/b as well , I,ve had 2 CJ-7,s ,a MB flat fender , and have a 1991 YJ , but thought I,d like to have a real short 4x4 with a more modern frame and running gear and a 12volt electrical system BEST CJ-JIM:welder
