around every 20,000kms but your best bet is to put in a clear inline filter so you can see if you have any dirt and junk coming in

the more you change it the better, i already had to replace my fuel pump because of poor design. The filter was after my pump(on the firewall) so rust from my tank destroyed my pump. Now i have a clear inline filter before the pump and it has a magnet inside, the pump has a filter inside and then i have the stock toy filter.
