hey , i had a fellow 4x4er tell me that it is closed due to a jerk in a big truck trashed the golf course all up and now the gate is looked??

does anybody know if this is true or just bull?

Can't say wether or not it's true but I wouldn't have a hard time believing there's someone out there stupid enough to lawn job the golf course.

When was the last time you were up there? It has gotten quite a bit better(harder) in the last year. It now would be nearly impossibly for a stocker to get up the first section.

That's a pretty piss poor attitude. If some jerk wrecked it for all of us that's nothing to be happy about. If they can close one area they can close more. I haven't heard anything about this but if it is true this one jerk could undermine all of the efforts to keep trails open in the lower mainland.

okay well my personal feelings about kiss my axle are not too great (met him on the bottem of eagle last year) but please he really dosen't need this much attention.

when was the last time anybody was out there,eagle that is? is it open? has anybody heard anything?

sorry if i'm being rude but i care more about the mountain that i do about kiss my axle or anything he has to say.

Last time I was out ther eit was open, and we coun't get very far due to snow. That was before I heard about this incident though. Just when we thought our efforts to keep it open might be starting to have a little effect some a$$wipe has to completely ruin it.

Has anyone confirmed yet wether this has actually hapened? Does anyone live near there that can make a quick run to check if the gate is locked?

I happen to be a moderator and I've been reading and here's what I have to say:

1) People have said alot worse things on here that have been merely consider "stirring the pot." Banning someone for that comment, while it isn't the most intelligent thing that's been said this century, would be a bit drastic. Discussion is far better.

2) Hope you're making some good friends at Pirate4x4.com that'll come up here to wheel with your ass (unless you plan on regularly commuting to the hammers!) because with an attitude like that the next time you roll your truck on a local trail (and if all your truck does is mall crawl then you have spent alot of money foolishly and I hope you enjoy commuting in an overbuilt 4x4), none of us are going to do anything but laugh.

3) Who cares if it's a small and simple trail, you forget that alot of the people here drive stock or near stock vehicles and don't have the cash or luxury of dual cases and big tires.

4) Vibe's question has been answered, so unless anyone has anything intelligent and serious to say, there's no more need for the "You're an idiot!" posts.

Just because someone has a different opinion doesn't make them a moron etc, they are entitled to think whatever they want. It is attitudes like this that are the real problem in this sport, both 4x4ers and environmentalists etc both think they are right and the others are idiots and nothing is accomplished and the opposing sides never come together and work together to find solutions nor do they want to.

The other thing is it is impossible to guage if someone is being sarcastic most of the time and or joking that is what i got from his post. Don't always take posts at face value.
