It is almost here. The racers have been asking about it. The fans have been pleading for it. On June 2, it arrives. Off road racing is about to return to Kamloops! Sportsman Four Wheel Drive Centre is proud to present the 2002 Sportsman Four Wheel Drive Off Road Racing Series! This is not your regular ho hum off road racing though. Working in conjunction with the Whispering Pines Indian Band , we are building a new track ...a bigger, wider track with more jumps. This track will be the widest, longest and FASTEST track in Western Canada. Imagine the heart stopping action as two full size trucks jump across the table top side by side or four buggies go into a corner, all expecting to come out of it in the lead. The action is going to be incredible. The action is going to be unforgettable. The action is going to happen on only four weekends this year, June 2, June 23, September 8, and October 6. These events are going to easily surpass previous races in Kamloops. We now have the facility to match the action. Whispering Pines Indian Band is 20 minutes north of Kamloops and has a camping and RV area, a concession as well as a beer garden. While there is no RV hookups, there is hot showers, running water and all kinds of room. But if this series is going to the success that is planned to be, we need your help. We are looking to hear from race fans and racers as well as potential track support personnel. If you have a truck or buggy and are interested racing the series, or are looking to become involved in the sport by working at the track, please contact us. Of course, we are looking forward to hearing from race fans with any questions or suggestions. You may contact Brendan Chamberlin at [email protected] , Dale Nyeste at [email protected] , or 250-579-8039. Also, to keep up on the latest on this series as well as others, check out the message board at Off Road Action, Canada’s Largest Off Road Racing Site at www.offroadaction.8k.com Both Brendan and Dale are regular contributors and will answer any questions there as well.

I knew there was some Kamloops people on here that would reply! It sounds like it is going to be awesome..they are building a new track that will be like the CORR tracks in the states-WIDE! The narrowest point is about 20 feet and the widest is double that I am told. If you really want to see the action up close Mudhucker, you should volunteer to work on the track! The sight of two trucks rubbing fenders and coming right for you at full throttle is...incredible!
I know they are looking for people to help them out. Email Dale or Brendan and see what they say. Whenever I was not racing, I was working on the track because it is next best seat in the house!

The dates are all on Sundays, so hopefully you will not have to work. Email Brendan or Dale at the above addresses for some more info, or go see Bob at Sportsman 4x4.
