I just talked to one of the Geomatic Guys down at the Coquitlam city hall and he told me that they're thinking about installing cameras now at Eagle Mountain because they want to protect the water supply. Just to let you guys know just in case that if somebody tries to go around the gate(if they haven't installed the gate already), they can get the plate number.

The only place they can install a gate or camera is on the paved road (the do not own the unpaved road). What they are probably concered about is the water reservoir up by the trail head and the threat of terrorism (poisoning the water, now a concern everywhere). There is already a gate blocking access to it and the reservoir is also fenced in. A GVRD guy goes up there weekly to do water tests.
If they wanted to close the area off, they already have a gate in place. It is just not locked or closed anymore.

Well trust me the last thing I would want to see is a shot of your big balls!, that's gross! Cameras are not necessarily a bad thing cause along with plate shots they might also get a shot of the dumbasses who are taken stolen vehicles up there so it might just deteer them from putting stolen vehicles there and leave the land for us to play on!

What good would a camera really do?If someone is up to no good they've probably already taken care of the plate problem.The only people a camera might keep away are the stand up people who are of no threat anyway.

the only way I could see a camera really helping is if it is monitored by staff 24/7. If it's not monitored, then what good is getting some license plateless stolen or legit car going up the road? If it is monitored they could jump into their choppers and fly over a swat team

(I'm kidding by the way). We all know it is not going to be monitored.

For the fact that there have been other water sheds that have had people brake into and tamper with the water ie; pour stuff in,put garbage in that sort of thing and that would be the end of it. It's there to help protect our drinking water!! you all would know this if anyone watched the news and keep up with thier communitys to find out.. so please don't go <img src=http://web.radiant.net/butterball/splat.gif> if you don't need too.
PS: the camera's will be on record 24/7 and monitored by the city.

the camera's will do the same as the ones that are taping st.johns street in port moody, they are there to observe the area and INCASE something goes bad they have it on tape. if the gate is locked than stay out other wise if your not doing anything wrong than there is no problems.

There are many ways to help out. The least is to join up (do nothing if you want, numbers help us), the most is to join up and get involved. Your choice.

If you do not want to join up and do not want to get involved. SHUT THE @#$%$% UP AND STOP POSTING AND TYPING THIS CRAP! You are doing nothing but helping to close Eagle and other places.

I am of the opinion that things are at such a critical state in this province with respect to access to public land that if you are not with us you are against us. PERIOD.
