I have the rear Driveshaft, output shaft, and extension from a 2000 XJ, what we need to know here is would these be compatible with the YJ versions of the 231 (I would imagine the drive shaft would be usable but would need shortening a little - how much depends on lift)
The YJ case is a 91. the XJ bits do not use the newer style seal (think they call it an external setup) and the parts look amazingly similar to the YJ parts (except of corse the driveshaft is longer.

The output shaft will fit, if the extension you refer to is the tailhousing, it will fit.

The driveshaft u-joint will be the right size but the driveshaft is gonna be way too long :p
