Finished my OBW for my Jeep. It works well and was fairly easy to complete. Now I have to learn to weld better. I used the write up and additional emails from Damon Gentile's website http://www.geocities.com/Yosemite/2472/obweld.html

Special thanks to Ed (Asleepatthewheel on this board) for the connectors.

why didn't you use a 100amp large case ford alternator?

also how many hours do you expect to get out of the alternator before it burns out?

Greg-Thanks for fixing the link.

I switched the photos to a different host site so I hope they work now. Anyone else have problems with webshots?

#1 Because I already had a spare Delco (I put a higher amperage alt in the jeep) and Damon's website showed me exactly what to do with that type of alternator so it made it easier for me.

#2 I don't know how many hours I expect to get out of it, but Damon outboarded his springs on his CJ with only his welder.

I plan on picking up a larger internally regulated alternator next time I'm at the junkyard. I'm hoping to get one for $20

Yeah, I'm running a dual alternator. I attached the second alternator to my York compressor which is in the stock location for a 4.2 litre I6 with AC. See the picture above. I built the brackets myself with no welder. Brackets are made out of 2 pieces of 1/8" x 1" x 6" and 1/8" x 1" 2x2 square stock.
