I finally went to the island to shoot some photos of Ryeguy's Blazer/Unimog creation that he calls, "Hulk." I think you'll like these shots.

/ubb/sigfiles/hulk1.jpg
This gives you a sense of Hulk's imposing size in relation to other 4x4s.

/ubb/sigfiles/hulk2.jpg
One of Ryeguy's goals in building Hulk was to give it exemplary deep snow performance. With flexy 44" Dick Cepek Fun Countries on Hummer beadlocks and lots of ground clearance thanks to the 'Mog portal hubs, Hulk floated on the snow where as I sank like a rock.

/ubb/sigfiles/hulk3.jpg
Standard axle vs. rock.

/ubb/sigfiles/hulk4.jpg
Portal hub axle vs. rock. The 44" tires help but the offset axle also gives scads of extra clearance.

I'll have a detailed article posted by the end of the month. I drove it and I am a believer, Hulk rocks!

Wow!
That's an impressive beast!

What kind of running did he design the truck to take on? (Other than deep snow i guess)

Thanks for all the kind words, guys.

How much invested? Hard to say. But I do know I've spent more $ on beer while building the truck, than some people in their entire 4x4's!

Primary purpose is snow, but it seems to work decently in other stuff too.

Hey Lars...that's you standing in the snow right? How tall are you?

That looks like some serious snow! Although nothing compared to the height of the truck :]

Oh my God that is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. I know what i'm asking Santa for Christmas, as for udermind? if he could actually build something like that i'll give him all the money he wants as long as when he is done the truck is MINE. Lars the truck makes you look like a midget, what are you about 5'10" how tall is the beast, I guess no underground parking lots for you egh!

Wicked Truck! What happened to the torque tubes, or were these axles not equipped with this type of driveshaft configuration!

Nice work, all those empty beer bottles and cans will give you a better reurn on your money than NORTEL...LOL
