pulled my w56 transmission today, when i went to pull the shifters out, on top of the transmission shifter gasket i found a bunch of munched up bits of greenish plastic... just trying to figure out where this could have come from, the only place it could be would have been the shifter seat bushing, but it shifted normally before, and didnt have the floppy shifter lever syndrome when in gear that trucks with broken shifter seats would normally have. the shift fork bushing was still in good condition, but its below the gasket anyways so the pieces couldnt have gotten up there anyways.
can anyone think of what these plastic pieces could be?

Yep, shifter seat.

Mine was the same way, got so bad I lost 5th and reverse gear. Replaced it with the MC parts, best thing ive done. Made it shift like new..

Make sure you get a seat for the t-case too
