My valve-cover has 22RE but on my plate on the firewall it says 22REC. What is the C?

Thanks,

it's just the engine block model number, who cares? they've been using that for years and years. since the early 70s.

I remember reading somewhere that the "C" means the vehicle is equipped w/ California emissions equipment.
