Hey Guys,

I'm just doing a rear disc brake swap on my rear D44 for my MJ, and was wondering does it matter what side the calipers gets mounted on?.. in front of the axle, or behind the axle?

I initially have it setup in behind, but because my fuel tank comes so far back on the drivers side, my e-brake cable has to do a nasty "S" curve around the back of the fuel tank and then in front of the shock. But if the caliper was in front of the axle, I can just bring the e-brake cable behind the shock in a nice loop. And because the cable will now mount on top of the axle, they are long enough to do that.
The passenger side is fine either way..

So what are the advantages and disadvantages of either setup?
