On Monday my buddy Mike with the best built Pathfinder I have ever seen lost control backwards up the hard-line we call axle hill and rolled.

He said that he was attempting to climb the fist rock obstacle and stalled. He started to roll back and discovered that he had no brakes!!!! He was picking up speed and had no choice but to put it into the right hand wall but his incredible flexy truck started to climb it. He rolled over twice and landed on his side
. Diver and passenger got away with only cuts and bruises. Undrivable they left it there overnight and had a tow truck pick it up in the morning.

Note to self reinforce your CJ5 roll bar

I was close to rolling my truck on monday too. In the same spot!! I took my cruiser straight up the middle of the obsticle and with the VERY short wheel base of an fj40 and all of the bouncing I almost went end over. The crappy part is that I busted my whole leaf pack in half!

Well I got my front axle stuck on a big rock at eagle ridge, so passenger side tire was in the air, drivers side tire was in a hole and barely touching dirt. Hooked up the winch to try and pull it over and the right rear suddenly had a lot of air under it, hee hee.
I was wondering why nobody else tried to go over that rock.

WOW!!! do I sence a little anger in that statement.I don't think anything bad was ment by what he said just that there was a lot of stuff left on the trail and one would think that it was bad enough that the truck went over but why leave the pieces for the scum bags that are stripping trucks up there.

hey funinbc first off my pathetic little truck made the hard line with no problems and second if i had rolled over I WOULD HAVE CLEANED UP AFTER MYSELF!!!!!! NO EXCEPTION!!!! now before you go calling anybody foul mouthed language 1 you should know who your calling it and another remember you might need him out on the trails one day and if you can't take a little criticism for your actions you should not be on here and for your buddy i'm sorry if he rolled and it must be hard on him to lose his wheels i know it would be for me but my mind is still on cleaning up after yourself as we already have problem with the locals saying we are distroying the place and what was left did not help the matter. so please don't make snap judgment on anyone you meet on this site as i don't.......
thanks again for your input and remember this
what we go in with we must come out with even if it is in parts?????

Kevin, you have to chill out a bit, bud. What was said wasn't bad at all and I agree he should have picked his stuff up. It would only be common sense to do so.

The fight isn't here guys the fight is to keep trails alive. I to agree that carnage should be packed. However some people react different to situations. I myself would probably be concerned with how I am going to get to work, or how am I going to pay for this. Eithier way what was said was said and should stop. Accidents happen things get said. Life goes on as well as wheelin.

See you on the trail

FuninBC, I can understand your sentiment but Udermind is right, the stuff should've been cleaned up. My YJ spilled some of its tranny fluid when it flopped over on its side so we put out some absorbent mats to soak up the oil and shovelled up the contaminated soil as well.

When Jon Bruce and his CJ went for that barrel roll at RIP a couple of years ago, it was the same thing: everything that came off that Jeep was collected and properly disposed of, and we were in a much more difficult and remote area than Eagle Ridge.

It's all part and parcel of the sport; you gotta take the bruises gracefully or else it's no fun at all.

First of all I would like to offer apologies to all on this list. You have to understand Mike (the truck that rolled) is the kind of guy that is the last to leave the campsite to make sure everything is left the way it was. I have also never seen him leave trash on the trail and the fist to pick it up!

Lets think about what happened. It was late his buddy was bleeding and they were in shock. Like I said they walked out and a tow truck came up the next day and recovered the truck. He wasn't even there when it was recovered.

Again sorry for the rant

hey funinbc you are right about what happened and of course he was not concerned about the trash but about his buddy and i understand. but the next day after i would have gone back to pick up. i was not saying your buddy was a person that did this on purpose but maybe he forgot. people do this!!
we all need to put in our part because sooner or later we all will be going to washington or maybe to alberta to do our 4x4ing and none of us really would like this now would we. we as member don't need to fight but to help out once in a while and the fight is like one member posted earlier it's on keepen the trails open for all to enjoy and again if i pissed you off i'm sorry but it's all criticism and i know you would have done it to me!!!!

This would be a good time to bring up that Eagle has gotten way harder in the past few months. Now, I'm not complaining, I like a challange. What we have seen here is a sign of things to come. The trail that we all love is getting eaten away and in worse shape more and more everyday. I can remember a few years ago, my buddy took his parents AWD station wagon all the way to the top with no dents, no scratches, no flats and especially no rolls. The hill looked nothing like it does today. Over the winter, we all will use the trail. We may leave garbage, broken truck parts or just tread in the mud. Point is we all leave something behind. I would HATE to see eagle shut down because of a few people that leave a mess, have crazy campfires, dump stolen trucks and have little or no respect for the trail. Trail clean-ups help a whole bunch, prevention is key. There is my bit. Thanks.
