i don't think it worked for ferris bueller if i remember right. the ferrari was still adding miles in reverse.

Yep, it's not a fast way to do it. I used to do it when I was a teenager and was grounded while my parents were out of town. Drive around while they're gone, and then rollback the odo before they get home.

interesting to learn its not as fast as you'd think. I thought for sure it would be a pretty quick way to do it with a fast drill.

Maybe find someone from europe and ask, everyone over there does it lol .... :D
I've never seen a used car for sale in europe that didn't have the ODO rolled back....

or even old semi trucks with enough KMs to go to the moon and back 50 times, but with the odo showing 700,000 km ..... LOL

no those particular trucks are the ones that have rolled over back to 0 and started counting again. twice. maybe three times. nobody remembers. ive worked on old junk semis like that, and they still are probably still going now. one truck I worked on had 1,600,000 km on it, the odometer had an extra digit on it to count the millions.
