A guy i work with came up to me the other day and wonted to know how hard it wood be to swap out his IFS hor a solid axel.

Like...
is it worth it?
what axel to use?
is it hard?
has anyone done it?
and how long did it take?

1)Depends if you use it or not
2)What ever fits (depends on truck)
3)Depends on you abillities (changing oil is hard to some)
4)Lots-O-people have done them.
5)Depends on what ya have, and what your goin to.
IMO Fords are the easiest to swap solid axles into because the TTB independant is very similar. Coils line up, need a panhard bar & Radius arm mounts, and yur almost done. Most others you gotta swap in some kind of suspension as well cause of the tortion bar set-up on the I.F.S.

Well it would prob. help to know what your dealing with......a ranger/BII site wouldn't help ya much with a Toy, Pathfinder,ect.

Yes, what vehicle are you asking about? Is it a fullsize F150, 250, 350, Bronco, bronco 2, ranger..... I can direct you to info and answer some questions on the F150 or Bronco stuff. But if your looking for smaller vehicle info I'm not sure.
