HEY BUDDY IT IS NOT THAT HARD.. IVE BEEN THINKING ABOUT THIS FOR A LONG TIME.. IF YOU WANT TO GO WITH THE 78-79 STEERING BOX YOU NEED MORE THAN THE STOCK HIGH-BOY LIFT.. YOU NEED MORE BECAUSE THE PITMAN ARM WILL NOT FIT BETWEEN THE FRAME AND THE SPRING..AS FOR MAKING A BRACKET ANYONE WITH THE LITTLEST FABRICATION SKILLS CAN MAKE ONE..IF ANYONE KNOWS ANY OTHER STEERING BOX THAT MIGHT WORK BETTER PLEASE LET ME KNOW.....

Hmm, I installed a 78/79 F150 steering box onto my 69 F100 that came with manual steering. Its the only one that would fit without serious amounts of fabrication, ie. cutting out the crossmember.
The F150 box mounts to the outside of the frame, I drilled through the boxed frame, and then welded in a steel sleeve to keep the frame from crushing when I tightened the bolts.
saw a guy that used a 2wd box mounted to the inside of frame.he boxed the inside and used a 78 bronco pitman arm to pass from inside to the outside of the frame.he then used a drag link from a 76 w/manual steering.WORKS GREAT!Where are you from?I could arange for you to see this set up if you wish
