I'd like to do a straight axle conversion on my 87 dodge dakota does anyone know of a website with info on this, or does anyone have any suggestions, such as axle type, steering?

Well 4wheel&off road mag did this to a 2001 quad cab but they went all out with new t-case/tranny etc. You would have to be a good fabricator. I think if you could find the right width of axle(say a 77-older bronco) and had some fab skills(and lots of time) you could do it. Anything is possible w/some knowhow.
