Press Release – Flying Zucchini Brothers to run the Ultra 4 Grand Slam Series

March 30, 2010 – Vancouver, British Columbia

The number 4410 Flying Zucchini Brothers team of Curtis and David Warner have committed to competing in the 4 event Ultra 4 Grand Slam Series put on by Hammerking productions. The brothers were attracted to the series as it consists of a diverse array of events. The first race was the King of the Hammers event on February 12, which is a mix of desert racing and rock crawling on a 135 mile course. The second event is the Bilek Silver State 300 held in the desert of Nevada and covers 300 miles of pure desert racing on April 24. The third event is the 6 mile Lands End Hillclimb held on August 7-8 in Grand Junction, Colorado. The final event will be the We Rock Put Up or Shut Up event, location and date TBA.

The 2010 debut to the series did not start out as well as hoped for the Flying Zucchini Team at the King of the Hammers race. At approximately mile marker 20 the team broke a brand new Atlas transfer case. The result was a DNF for the event as it took the team 3 hours of winching a sand hill climb at mile marker 33 in order to try and get back to the main pit to swap in a new transfer case. Details of the event can be found at this link. http://www.bc4x4.com/features/2010/koh-2010/.

The next event for the 4410 car is the Silver State 300. The car is being reworked with a newly tuned suspension with the help of Baja North of Kamloops and the addition of various safety devices to meet the Best in the Desert governing body tech rules. The 6.0 liter LS design motor will also see a new cam installed to help the team maintain a higher average speed over the course. Representatives from the Sportsman 4x4 shop in Kamloops will travel to Nevada to pit for the Flying Zucchini Brothers team. Keeping everyone informed on our progress, Crawlin’BC will provide live feed from both bit crews for this event.

The Flying Zucchini Brothers would like to send out a thank-you to the Gear Centre Group, Sportsman 4x4, Baja North, www.bc4x4.com, www.crawlinbc.com, Toyo Tires Canada, MasterCraft, Hardbodies by Aqualu Industries, and Evolution Machine and Fabrication.

Hope to see you all in at one of the Ultra 4 Grand Slam Series events in 2010 and please feel free to stop buy our pit and socialize, ask question or grab a wrench!
