I need some help getting the right tie rod for my Jimmy (See subject
line). I am replacing the tie rods and ends, and have run into a problem.
The parts listed show a 3 piece tie rod across the front between the
tires, I how ever have the two piece that is for the trucks w/ 4:10 gears
and hydra boost brakes. Decoding the vin through the GM parts dept shows
that I should have the 3:73 set and vacuum boost brakes. IF the the truck has the heavier rated front springs how can I tell visually and would that change the tie rod?

What I need to know is if the two peice tie rod ever came factory on the '90
Jimmy (Which is currently installed and shows no sign of being a replacement),
other options on the truck are the 30x10.5 tires and trailer package. Any
help on this subject would be appreciated

The truck is bone stock

Hi i just went through rebuilding my front diff and if i'm correct it's the draglink your talking about. The three piece draglink has been discontinued and has been replaced with the 2 piece draglink and the length will be correct. Hope that helps:D

Thanks for the help, Yes I was reffering to the draglink. What I found out was that my truck was produced towards the end of that model run, before they changed to the new '90's style in '91, and they used leftover parts on the line, the link if from an '89 and came factory.

1990 was the transition year, they started with the PUs then in '91 went with the rest of the line. Just a quick note, in '90 the c/k and r/v styles were available as well as the s10/15.
