Nice going!

Is there a magazine out with all the finalists in it?

Ryeguy: Now that you are a finalist can I see some pics of your new vehicle?

JCD
Pics? Very soon now. The next issue of Can4x4 magazine will have a feature on it (due out any day now), and BC4x4 will (hopefully) have theirs up shortly, too. Exactly when only Larry and Wil can answer, though.

Yes we do Rob, because it will imply that all Canadians are master mechanics, machinists, and fabricators who build the best of the best.

I'm thinking there are gonna be some locals in the Top 10.

I've only seen pictures/specs of Wolf359, and it's damn nice.

It'll be soon. We might even head over this weekend for a photo shoot.

I finally went to the island to shoot some photos of Ryeguy's Blazer/Unimog creation that he calls, "Hulk." I think you'll like these shots. This truck *MUST* be in the Top Truck Challenge!!!!!!!! Vote for Ryeguy (aka Robert Bryce).

/ubb/sigfiles/hulk1.jpg
This gives you a sense of Hulk's imposing size in relation to other 4x4s.

/ubb/sigfiles/hulk2.jpg
One of Ryeguy's goals in building Hulk was to give it exemplary deep snow performance. With flexy 44" Dick Cepek Fun Countries on Hummer beadlocks and lots of ground clearance thanks to the 'Mog portal hubs, Hulk floated on the snow where as I sank like a rock.

/ubb/sigfiles/hulk3.jpg
Standard axle vs. rock.

/ubb/sigfiles/hulk4.jpg
Portal hub axle vs. rock. The 44" tires help but the offset axle also gives scads of extra clearance.

I'll have a detailed article posted by the end of the month. I drove it and I am a believer, Hulk rocks!

The cool thing about this truck is that it is actually very street-worthy and could easily be driven down to the TTC and back while hauling all the necessary tools and personal gear AND pull a trailer with spare parts. To me, the ability to conquer all the challenges while being fully roadworthy is the real marque of the top truck. That was also a great feature of Gebby's Gamma Goat CJ (from Kelowna) that won TTC a few years ago; Gebby actually drove his Jeep down there and back.

My truck barely gets off and on the trailer correctly.

I'd end up in Florida trying to get to California if I drove it.

Cool truck ryeguy. I love those mog axles.
