I have an AX-5 and an AX-15 tranny.
the 15 has some problems so that will mean repairs (apparently $$$)

My question is, can I use the AX-5 with a 6cyl engine without any problems? Or is it simply too small weight of a unit?

Input would be great.. thanks!

I believe they have different bolt patterns, so I don't think you can even bolt an ax-5 to a 6 cylinder. Someone correct me if I'm wrong

It'll work, I think. This page has a good breakdown of what trannies go with what engine. AX 5 is known for being week though. If you're wheeling or running big rubber you may want to rethink, or refinance ;0)

BTW, if you decide to unload the ax15, I'm toying with putting one (+ dana 300)in my cj. Lemme know k?

Hey, there ya go, I missed that. I really think (based on wayyy too many common opinions) that you're better off with the 15 guy. Still, it can't be "that" hard a swap as lots of people swap the 5 out in favour of a 15.
