OK, so I replaced the head gasket and had the head rebuilt. Put everything back together. And it doesn't start. Cranks over, has spark, has fuel, won't run. I'm think the timing is way out of wack b/c I didn't matchmark the distributor when I pulled it apart. Anybody got any ideas? I'd like to check the compression, but haven't got a compression tester. It did run before I pulled everything apart, although it ran pretty crappy. Oh, its an 85 22R.

does it start at all. mine stared for about 2 seconds then died. the problem was a loose connection between the igniter and the computer.

that could be the problem. mine was only running of of the cold start injector so once it kicked over to the regular ones it died. all i did was plug it back in and it ran like new.

Are you talking about a fuel injected motor? Mines carbed.
