Last winter was fine....LOTS of heat, this winter...NOT
What is the best way to diagnose where the problem is ie: heater core or thermostst.
Temp gauge shows maybe 75....
Cooolant mixture is topped up and reads fine on bulb guage.
Fan IS blowing....lukewarm air.
was going to disconnect core hoses and run water from garden hose in to see if flow is good..
Any other suggestions?

Cheers,
Ashley

I'd say test the flow how you described...

If the t-stat is good then I'd say something is clogging the flow.

Take the t-stat out and put it in some water on the stove...see if it opens and closes.

I think you're on the right track...

Good luck!

If it turns out that you need a new heater core, consider upgrading the blower motor while you're in there. An early-70's Blazer heater motor is a bolt-in swap for CJs and early YJs like ours, and it makes a big difference!

it was sort of a bolt in on my jeep too, just needed to enlarge the hole a little but no biggy.

Thanks for the tips....Flushed the heater core and replaced the t-stst....SHE'S HOT NOW!!

Considering the blower upgrade, maybe some day I have nothing to do....YEAH! RIGHT!

Ashley
