I picked up some some wagonner leafs for the rear of my 1981 toy shortbox, so i was wondering if anyone else has done the conversion, i need as much details as possible, thanks.

You're going to want to do a longer shackle because they'll flex pretty good, can't really think of anything else that would give you problems in the rear..

So i put shackles in the rear of the spring, but don't i have to change the front mount???

No, but it is going to throw your pinion angle out so you're going to need some shims.

Yes, you will have to move mounts...to keep the wheels under the wheel wells that is.

Mine were moved 6" forward, and 5" rear-ward.
As it sits now, the wheelbase/driveshaft length is ~0.25" longer.

Can you elaborate at all on this Keith? I thought that the stock waggys were the same length as the stock toy leafs.

Sorry...kinda in a rush:

Rear Wagoneer springs (I believe from 81-84 is the years you want--Grand Wagoneer model) are just a hair over 11" longer than stock Toyota packs...

They yielded 3" lift over the stock setup, to which I added a 7.5" shackle (eye to eye); I believe the stock shackle was 4" eye to eye.

Will give a rough idea what was done up front...and yes, thse are factory Toy hangers, ordered from the dealer at $38ea.

i can move the front bracket 6 or 5 inches forward, but there is no room to move the rear bracket of the spring back because it is a shortbox. Would a longer shackle cause me any problems and make up for the 5 inches???
or would i be better off extending my frame (pain in the ass)

I don't *think* it could be done with just a longer shackle...although I could be wrong.

What of doing a 3/4E setup...? How much further out would the frame need to be extended...?

That was an idea somebody else gave me too, but theres not really much there too weld to, it's pretty rusty and thin on the end, i'd just end up blowin holes through the frame, any ideas???

if the wagonneer spring is 11" longer then the toyota spring then i'm probably going to have to extend the frame about 8 to 10 inches
